Jalise

Jalise was born in a small village in Holland 1986. She comes from a very musical family . Mom was a singer for 25 years, and dad plays the guitar. At the cradle, Jalise mom always sang a lot of child songs, before she fell asleep.

When she was a few years old, Jalise practiced a lot. Most of the time she practiced with a hairbrush in her hand in front of the mirror, and she sang a lot of child songs for her little baby sister.

By the time she was four years old, she knew one thing for sure: she wanted to be a singer, just like her mother. Her Mother told her that she must practice as much as she could. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. One year later she knew all the songs from Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan and Whitney Houston. Jalise first major appearance was in a full church, when she was just seven years old. Three years later, Jalise began to write English songs. She found inspiration in the things that happened in her daily life..

At her puberty (between 13 en 18 years old), she wasn’t the easiest (like many others). Her music was like her therapy, and also for many others who found comfort and recognition in situations she has been
through. She met a few people, and started to record songs.

When she was 17 she started her career as soloist with collaborations like Jay Colin, producer Shroom, producer Giorgio Tuinfort, Beatkidz, Blaxtar, Perry Mystique and MVP. She did a lot of featurings and
samplework with dutch vocalists like Negativ, Lange Frans & Baas B, Kempi, Brace, Riza,Tim Beumers, Winne and many others. She also worked with foreign artists Hell Razah and Shyheim (Wu-Tang), Ghostface
Killah and Busta Rhymes.
