Talent development platform Super-Sonic Jazz started in 2016 as a series of concerts and club nights at the legendary venue Paradiso Amsterdam to provide a stage for the new wave of contemporary jazz musicians in the city. An annual festival and the launch of the independent record label Super-Sonic Jazz Records followed. With experimental programming that blends traditional jazz with contemporary genres such as hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and electronic music, Super-Sonic Jazz pushes the boundaries of what jazz culture means to listeners, enthusiasts and artists alike. On October 21 and 22, 2020 the fourth edition of the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival would have taken place at Paradiso Amsterdam as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event, but given the situation surrounding the outbreak of the corona virus, the festival was presented as a digital livestream festival instead of a physical event. The online edition of Super-Sonic Jazz 2020 continues the mission of Super-Sonic Jazz, which is  presenting and promoting local talents that we believe in.
